Frequently Asked Questions

Speech pathology helps children develop the skills they need to communicate, connect, and be understood.
A speech pathologist supports things like speaking clearly, understanding and using words, joining in conversations, managing stuttering, learning to read and write, or using other ways to communicate (like AAC).
Therapy is tailored to each child and often looks like play, fun, and meaningful activities that build confidence in everyday life.

If your child is finding it hard to communicate clearly, understand language, speak fluently, or interact socially, they may benefit from speech pathology support. If you're unsure, we’re happy to chat and help you decide whether an assessment is the right next step.

The first session is about getting to know your child and understanding their communication needs. It includes an assessment and a conversation with you about goals that might be appropriate moving forward.
This is also a time where you can ask any further questions that you have and a time for us to get to know your child, in turn allow your child to get to know us.

We work with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. You may also be eligible for Medicare rebates with a GP referral, and some private health funds cover speech pathology. We're happy to help you explore your options.
